• In 1987, Taiwan Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. was established to open restaurants in Taiwan. In 1988, its first restaurant was opened in Taipei.
• In 2016, the number of restaurants exceeded 50.
• In 2017, Taiwan Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. celebrated the 30th anniversary of its establishment.
• In Taiwan, where women have made social progress and dual-income households are common, the percentage of people eating out is extremely high at 70%, making it an attractive market. Taiwan Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. stands out in taking on new challenges even when compared to other Yoshinoya around the world: for example, when Yoshinoya first expanded into Taiwan, restaurants had consisted of counters in the same style as in Japan, but since 1993, all restaurants have been converted into walk-up restaurants to adapt to customers’ needs.

Shanghai

• In April 2002, Shanghai Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. was established to open restaurants in China. In August 2002, its first restaurant Nanjing East Road Sincere Store was opened. In 2011, Hanamaru expanded into Shanghai, and the first Hanamaru Udon restaurant was opened.
• In 2017, Shanghai Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. celebrated the 15th anniversary of its establishment.
• In 2010, it opened restaurants in Expo 2010 Shanghai China, where both Yoshinoya and Hanamaru Udon turned out to be popular, as reflected in queues of customers formed daily. In recent years, it has also introduced health-themed products to meet the needs of customers in Shanghai, one of the world’s largest cities.

Qingdao

• In March 2014, QINGDAO BRANCH, YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD was established and its first restaurant in Qingdao was opened. In 2016, the first Hanamaru Udon restaurant was opened.
• QINGDAO BRANCH operates restaurants centering on Qingdao City and Jinan City. It is constantly taking on new challenges, including launching a restaurant based on collaboration between Yoshinoya and Hanamaru Udon, aggressively adopting local products, experimenting with table-service format, and developing a restaurant with a new design.

Shenzhen

• In 2004, Shenzhen Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. was established, and its first restaurant in Shenzhen was opened. In 2018, the first Hanamaru Udon restaurant was opened.
• In 2014, Shenzhen Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. celebrated the 10th anniversary of its establishment.
• Shenzhen Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. operates restaurants centering on Shenzhen City and Guangzhou City. In recent years, it has also been expanding the areas in which it operates restaurants to other cities in Guangdong Province. Since 2016, it has been experimenting with a restaurant based on a new format tailored to the area.

Fujian

• In June 2008, Fujian Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. was established, and in September 2008, its first restaurant in Fujian was opened. In 2016, the first Hanamaru Udon restaurant was opened.
• In 2018, Fujian Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. celebrated the 10th anniversary of its establishment.
• Fujian Yoshinoya Fast Foods Co., Ltd. operates restaurants centering on Fuzhou City and Xiamen City. Due in part to their location across the strait from Taiwan, the restaurants are utilized even today by many customers who had known Yoshinoya before their opening and had been longing for their launch.

Wuhan

• In 2014, YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (WUHAN) CO., LTD was established. The first Yoshinoya restaurant and the first Hanamaru Udon restaurant in inland China were opened simultaneously.
• YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (WUHAN) CO., LTD operates restaurants centering on Wuhan City in Hubei Province and Changsha City in Hunan Province. In recent years, it has started experimenting with a store that specializes in deliveries in order to develop formats tailored to customers’ needs, in light of the expansion of the delivery market in China.

Sichuan

• In June 2017, YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (SICHUAN) CO., LTD was established, and in November 2017, its first restaurant was opened.
• YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (SICHUAN) CO., LTD runs restaurants in Chengdu City, which is the biggest city in inland China. Chengdu City is a market that is undergoing significant economic growth even by Chinese standards, and is deemed as a key area for spreading and expanding the Yoshinoya brand in China in the future. Going forward, efforts will continue to be made to provide stable quality and services.

Chongqing

• In February 2018, YOSHINOYA F&B MANAGEMENT (CHONGQING) CO., LTD was established, and in May 2018, its first restaurant was opened.
• Chongqing, which boasts the largest area among municipalities directly administered by the Central Government in China, has a larger population than other directly-administered municipalities and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and is expected to undergo further development. In order to quickly establish the Yoshinoya brand in new areas, three restaurants have been opened successively within a year after launching the first restaurant. Going forward, efforts will continue to be made to provide stable quality and services, along with aggressive restaurant expansion.

Beijing

• In 1991, a franchise agreement was concluded with Hop Hing Group Fast Food Limited. In 1992, the first restaurant in Beijing was opened.
• The number of restaurants have rapidly grown, reaching 50 in 2006, 100 in 2009 and 200 in 2012.
• Yoshinoya’s expansion in China began on Wangfujing Street in Beijing, which is the most famous pedestrian street in China. While preserving the quality of its core product “beef bowl,” restaurants have been expanded to the current scale by refining the restaurant design and menu according to local customers’ needs.

Liaoning

• In 1994, the first restaurant in Liaoning was opened.
• In 2012, the number of restaurants exceeded 50.
• While the opening of restaurants have been concentrated in large cities, namely, Shenyang City and Dalian City, areas in which restaurants are launched have been expanded to include small- and medium-sized cities as well. Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), which is a popular dish in the menu and is made in the restaurant, has won the hearts of customers for its high quality.

Heilongjiang/Jilin

• In 2011, the first restaurant in Heilongjiang/Jilin was opened.
• Restaurant operation centers on Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province and Jilin City in Jilin Province. A restaurant is also opened annually at the “Harbin Ice Festival,” which is one of the three biggest ice festivals in the world; it enjoys popularity not only among local residents but also among tourists from around the world.

Inner Mongolia

• In 2003, the first restaurant in Inner Mongolia was opened.
• Restaurant operation centers on Hohhot City. While the menu, restaurant design, service, etc. are the same as in other regions in China, the sign is displayed in Mongolian along with Chinese and Roman characters.

Hong Kong

• In February 1991, Yoshinoya Fast Food (Hong Kong) Limited was established, and in May 1991, its first restaurant in Hong Kong was opened.
• In 2011, the number of restaurants exceeded 50.
• In 2001, Yoshinoya Fast Food (Hong Kong) Limited celebrated its 10th anniversary of establishment.
• Yoshinoya Fast Food (Hong Kong) Limited was the world’s first to introduce a menu that varies with time slot, and is working to develop restaurants that can be utilized easily by customers at all times, not just lunch or dinner time. Among Yoshinoya around the world, it is second to none in terms of average number of customers.

Qinghai

• In 2016, a franchise agreement was concluded with XINING SHENGLONG F&B MANAGEMENT CO., LTD, which is a restaurant company in Qinghai Province. In 2017, the first restaurant was opened.
• Restaurant operation centers on Xining City in Qinghai Province. Among the areas where restaurants have been launched in China, it is at the westernmost location and furthest from the coastal area where restaurants are concentrated; nonetheless, stable quality and services are provided in the same manner as in other regions.

Jiangxi

• Established Jiangxi F&B Management Co., Ltd in June 2018. Opened 1st Jiangxi store in October 2018.
• In the Jiangxi province where the rice eating culture is deeply rooted, and with high traffic outward from large cities, we believe Yoshinoya brand recognition will be high. As Jiangxi’s first rice-based QSR chain, we believe we will have high reputation. We aim to be the dominant QSR chain over the next 3 years.

Henan

• Established Tianjin Hop Hing Yoshinoya F&B Co., Ltd. in April 2018. Opened 1st Tianjin store in November 2018.
• Henan Province’s Zhengzhou City is the largest city in the Central Plain district with a population of about 9.5 million people, but the expansion of Japanese restaurants chain is not developed. Similar to other cities, the young generation’s consumption is high. 80% of customers who visited the 1st store were young people. Since Henan Province is a strong region of noodle eating culture, there are very few restaurants offering delicious rice, which is a big opportunity for Yoshinoya, and we are planning to actively expand stores in the future.

Anhui

• Established Yoshinoya (Anhui) Catering Co., Ltd. in October 2019, and opened the first store in December the same year.
• Anhui is a neighboring province of the East China Economic Zone (Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu) centered on Shanghai. With the development of the high-speed rail network and highway network progressing, the fastest travel time of one and a half hours from Nanjing and two and a half hours from Shanghai has become possible in recent years. The traffic of information, people and brands in the East China Economic Zone has dramatically increased. We want to benefit from the economic growth opportunity, increase the name recognition of the Yoshinoya brand and accelerate store openings.

MONGOLIA

• Yoshinoya Holdings has entered into a three-party franchise agreement with UB GROUP LLC, a Mongolian company, and Rich Food Supply LLC, an operating company affiliated with UB GROUP. Yoshinoya's first store in Mongolia will open under this agreement in January 2022.
• The One Shopping Mall is located among numerous offices and residences in the heart of Ulaanbaatar's residential district. Its proximity to the Great Mongolian Street, a major road connecting central Ulaanbaatar and the Prime Minister's residence, brings significant traffic volume. It is also adjacent to popular gathering places for young people and has other features that have established it as a familiar part of life for Khan-Uul residents. We believe this kind of convenience and high visibility makes the One Shopping Mall the perfect base for spreading the Yoshinoya brand in Ulaanbaatar.
