Up to the 1960s

1899

The family-run store Yoshinoya opens in the fish market in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

1958

YOSHINOYA CO., LTD. (currently YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD.) is established.

1968

YOSHINOYA CO., LTD. opens the second Yoshinoya restaurant in Shimbashi with the aim of expanding stores through chain store development.

The 1970s
to the 1980s

1980

YOSHINOYA CO., LTD. files for corporate reorganization proceedings.

1983

The reorganization plan is approved.
Saison Group invests in YOSHINOYA CO., LTD., and the company relaunches its business operations with capital of ¥500 million.

1987

Repayment of reorganization claims amounting to ¥10 billion is completed earlier than the initial plan.

1988

YOSHINOYA CO., LTD. merges with D&C Co., Ltd., the operator of Dunkin Donuts Japan, and the corporate name is changed to YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD.

The 1990s

1990

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD.’s stock is approved by the Japan Securities Dealers Association for over-the-counter trading.

1994

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. acquires shares of Daito Industry Co., Ltd.

1998

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. withdraws from the Dunkin Donuts business.

1999

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. acquires shares of the reorganized company KYOTARU CO., LTD.

The 2000s

2000

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. stock is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

2002

Completion of corporate reorganization proceedings for KYOTARU CO., LTD. is determined.

2004

A ban on imports of U.S. beef to Japan causes a temporary suspension of gyudon sales.
YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. acquires shares of Hanamaru, Inc.

2005

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. acquires shares of KYUSHU YOSHINOYA CO., LTD.

2007

YOSHINOYA D&C CO., LTD. introduces a pure holding company system.
The corporate name is changed to YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD.
YOSHINOYA CO., LTD. is established through incorporation-type company split. YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Shikoku Yoshinoya Co., Ltd.

2008

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Don Co., Ltd. (currently ARCMEAL Co., Ltd.) offered in private placement.
Yoshinoya resumes 24 hour sales of gyudon beef bowls.

2009

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Nakanihon Yoshinoya Co., Ltd.

The 2010s

Kitanihon Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. is established.

2011

KYOTARU CO., LTD. becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary.

2012

Hanamaru, Inc. becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary.

2013

Nishinihon Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. is established.

2015

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of SUSHI KING SDN.BHD.
ARCMEAL Co., Ltd. becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary.

2016

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Setagaya Co., Ltd.
YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. takes over Yoshinoya International Co., Ltd.

2018

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of With Link Holdings Co. Ltd.

2019

With Link Holdings Co., Ltd. (currently With Link Co. Ltd.) becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary.
YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. takes over Yoshinoya Asset Management Service Co., Ltd., the split company Hanamaru, Inc., and the split company KYOTARU CO., LTD.

The 2020s

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. transfers all shares of ARCMEAL Co., Ltd. to Anrakutei CO., LTD.

2021

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. transfers all shares of KYOTARU CO., LTD. to FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES LTD.

2022

As the Tokyo Stock Exchange reclassifies its market segments, YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. shifts to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market.

2024

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Takara Sangyo Co., Ltd.

2025

YOSHINOYA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. acquires shares of Kiramekino Mirai Co., Ltd.
