The Group Charter of Corporate Behavior

In the spirit of the group management policy "For the People," the groups aim to become an irreplaceable corporation that contributes not just to people in the country and region but across the world through its business practices. They aim to become a corporation trusted by society, fulfilling responsibilities by ensuring that the actions of the group employees comply with laws and regulations in the spirit of this policy. The CEOs of each group company strive to thoroughly familiarize employees with corporate ethics, and to lead efforts by example in achieving the group management principles in the spirit of this policy.

Furthermore, if a situation such as a breach of this policy were to occur, the managers of each group will announce the approach to solving the problem internally and externally, and work to determine the cause and prevent its recurrence. After disclosing accountability and information quickly and accurately to the public as well as clarifying authority and responsibility, the managers will take strict disciplinary action on their own.

To Our Customers

  • We will continue to provide products and services that are safe, of high quality, and rich in originality, to satisfy as many customers as possible.
  • To provide “good health" to our customers, we continue to offer products with high nutritional value and that are backed by evidence of “good health," rather than merely “being healthy," in future menu and ingredient development at each of our operating companies.
  • In our aim of realizing a society in which nobody will lose their opportunities to enjoy food throughout their lives, we will continue to develop products that are safe and that contribute to good health.
  • We will continue to work on the enhancement of information that is related to health, nutrition, safety, and security.
  • We will comply with laws and regulations and conduct fair and appropriate marketing, advertising, sales promotion, and representations. Regarding alcoholic beverages, we will implement marketing, advertising, sales promotion, and representations based on an approach of drinking in moderation, including the prevention of alcohol consumption by minors and drivers.

To Our Employees

  • We will respect our employees' individuality and independence, secure safe and comfortable work environments, impartially create opportunities, and share a sense of achievement in work and a sense of fulfillment in life.
  • By continuously improving the work environment and elevating the social status of the Company, we will become a company in which employees and their families can be proud of.
  • We will eliminate discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, social status, gender, age, disability, and other such factors.
  • In our Group companies in Japan, the labor union possesses the three labor rights (right to organize, right to collective bargaining, and right to collective action) and strives for mutual understanding with management through dialogue.
  • We encourage employees to participate in service activities that contribute to the promotion of public welfare, such as disaster relief, community development, sound development of youth, and cleanups at social welfare facilities.

To Our Suppliers

  • We will maintain good relationships with our suppliers and continue to offer opportunities to earn appropriate profits.
  • We will comply with laws and regulations, maintain sound business practices, and respect the rules of business. We will not engage in any illegal activities, such as fraudulent transactions, bribery, and the provision improper benefits, and we will conduct fair and free competition and proper transactions.

To Our Shareholders

  • We will strive to grow our business through sound corporate governance with capital efficiency and proactive information disclosure in mind and appropriately return profits to shareholders.
  • We will disclose company information in a fair manner.

To Society

  • To maintain sound and transparent relationships with politicians and government, we will comply with laws and regulations concerning political donations, contributions, and gifts. We have not made, nor shall we in the future, donations or contributions that exceed the permitted limits.
  • As a corporation that conducts its business globally, we will comply with laws and regulations in the relevant area, respect their cultures, traditions, and customs, and contribute to the development of those areas.
  • We will not tolerate involvement in any act of corruption in which authority is abused to gain unfair advantage.
  • We will not have any relationship with anti-social forces or organizations.
  • When making donations or joining any external organizations, we shall do so in a fair and appropriate manner.
